Gripping, powerful, raw, depressing, humbling, and most of all... HONEST! These are 6 of the best Sixes I have read in a long time. In fact, they're six of the best literary works I've read lately PERIOD.
These Sixes make me glad I live in the Land of Corn and nowhere fucking near Jersey!

David said... Guess everyone else said it best - raw, gritty, and hard-edged. I like the Elmore Leonard reference but I also see a little Norman Mailer in here. You can really climb inside each character and get a feel for who they are and what their lives are all about. I love the voice in Inside and how he is so subtly unrepentant, and I like how you tell the story of a junkie in The Edge of Heaven.
